This is a one of a kind stop (except there is another similar across the interstate on the WB ?). There are a couple of interpretative signs about the Land Speed Record, the transcontinental telephone line, a lookout platform and average restrooms. There is also a shoe wash to use after you walk out on tonthe salt.

Nice stop on our way east. The salt flats were a new experience for us and super cool looking at sunset.

We stopped here in November on a very cold, windy day. Snow was expected so we didn't stick around long. It was a clean rest area and not very crowded. It was also nice being able to view the salt flats while they were still dry.

We stopped here to use the bathrooms mostly on the way back to Salt Lake City. There's a cool looking viewing platform, but we didn't go up to check it out. There's one interesting toilet in the women's bathroom (a women's urinal, I heard, made for crouching basically but more like a toilet than a men's urinal). Clean bathrooms, ample parking.

When we went through in October, salt flats eastbound was mostly dry....Could walk out on the flats..Pretty awesome site. Water pumps to clean shoes were not turned on. Other than that, it was pretty cool. Westbound was beautiful with a lake that reflected the mountains in the distance. Well worth the drive...Loved this more than the Great Salt Lake.
